ALFA is a charitable trust based in Otakiri on the Rangitaiki Plains. ALFA was developed by Arborists for the furtherment of our urban trees. Through working in the arboricultural industry, it became apparent that there is a need for increased advocacy for our trees. Despite increasing evidence behind the strong positive benefits urban trees have on the health and wellbeing of the environment and the people within it, there is a growing disconnect between people and trees being observed.
ALFA Trust are aiming to repair this disconnect through educational workshops, communication of arboricultural science and environmental restoration projects. These projects and events are aimed to involve and educate the community about the positive benefits trees present for our personal well being, as well as furthering the vitality of our environment.
